Mid-Winter Break Ideas: NNY-Area Camps & Activities!

There are many organizations and businesses in the area working hard to get details nailed down for their Mid-Winter Break camps and activities. I will update this post as I receive new information, so check back often!

Antique Boat Museum Mid-Winter Break Camp
(Elementary – Kids under 7 must be accompanied by an adult)

Antique Boat Museum Drop-In Camp

$5 Members/ $6 Non-members per day (Daily family maximum: $20)
One child for five days – $20

This drop-in camp includes crafts, imaginary play, and games for elementary students. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult

“Inside Out” Winter Camp at Beaver Camp, Lowville (Ages 8-18)

Beaver Camp “Inside Out” Winter Camp is a Christian-themed indoor/outdoor overnight camp at Beaver Camp in Lowville, NY.

Activities include tubing, street hockey, cross-country skiing, and snow shoeing. From the website: “You can’t even begin to imagine the great fun that’s planned for “INSIDE OUT” at Beaver Camp. This entire weekend will have your head spinning as you play games, participate in snow activities and enjoy great sessions that relate to your life.”

How to Watch a Film (Ages 13+ – adult)
Wednesday, February 20
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This workshop will empower students with tools and a keen eye to look closer while watching movies, with the goal of gaining meaning of the story, themes and characters.  Clips from movies will be shown with particular attention to visual elements that make up movies and the all important beginning of films.

Become a Lifeguard with Red Cross (Ages 15-Adult)

Monti Fitness Center
$400 per student

Youth and adults ages 15 and up are invited by the American Red Cross to become a certified lifeguard February 18-22 at Monti Fitness Center on Fort Drum. Cost is $400 per student. 315-772-4807 or email for more information.
